The 42nd Blue Dragon Film Awards ceremony, which has shared the remarkable growth of Korean films, will kick off on November 26 (Friday) at KBS Hall in Yeouido. Launched in 1963 to promote the development of the domestic film industry, the Blue Dragon Film Awards was recognized for its public confidence through fair and transparent screening and established itself as the best film award in Korea.
This year, the main characters of Korean films, which had been somewhat stagnant due to COVID-19, will gather in one place to share encouragement and hope.The 42nd Blue Dragon Film Awards will hold a contest for entries to the "Clean Garden Short Film Awards" from October 6 (Wed).
The Blue Dragon Film Awards has been discovering and introducing works with fresh eyes and the individuality of next-generation directors that will be the future of Korean films. The "Cheongjeongwon Short Film Award" is open to anyone with Korean nationality or foreigners staying in Korea (including international students), and targets short films within 40 minutes completed after November 1, 2020.
Applications for entries will be accepted online from Wednesday, October 6th to midnight, Friday, October 15th. The final winner will be selected through fair and strict screening by a panel of judges composed of film experts. The final winner will be announced on the day of the 42nd Blue Dragon Film Awards, and the winner will be awarded a trophy and small prize money.
