Big Hit said at a company briefing session in 2020 held at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) in Seoul that this year, starting with the multinational boy group the agency co-produced with Belift(a joint venture between Big Hit and CJ ENM), a new girl group under Source Music(a label under Big Hit) will be presented next year, and a new Big Hit procuded boy group will debut in 2022.
Big Hit's provisional performance, released on the day, recorded KRW 587.8 billion in consolidated sales, which doubled year-on-year, and consolidated operating profit of KRW 95.5 billion (based on K-IFRS). Yoon Seok-jun, co-chairman of Big Hit, explained that last year's achievements were "synergy that resulted from providing a convergence service by organically combining performance, IP, and platform businesses." He emphasized that “fan is at the center of big hit winning formula,” and that “fan is the central axis of the music industry and the core value of Big Hit's business.”
Big Hit also plans to build a business model and collaborate with more domestic and foreign artists beyond Big Hit Label. Yoon said, “As the first example, Pledis Entertainment's group Seventeen will enter Weavers.” 'Weverse' is a community service platform previously used by Big Hit artists and fans. Bang then revealed several expansion projects Big Hit is preparing for this year.
