The movie "Sinkhole" (director Kim Ji-hoon), which will be released on August 11, has been officially invited to the section of Piazza Grande at the Locarno International Film Festival, according to the distributor Showbox on the 2nd.
It depicts the story of Cha Seung-won, Kim Sung-kyun, Lee Kwang-soo, and Kim Hye-jun, who quickly fell into the sinkhole with a villa while spending a normal daily life as a disaster buster that happened after 11 years of "Sinkhole."
Marking its 74th anniversary this year, the Locarno International Film Festival is Switzerland's largest film festival and one of Europe's most prestigious film festivals, drawing attention when actor Song Kang-ho won the "Excellence Awards" in 2019.
The Piazza Grande section, where "Sinkhole" was officially invited, is a symbolic section representing the Locarno International Film Festival, which invites films with both cinematic and commercial quality.
The Locarno Film Festival, which marks its 74th anniversary this year, will be held from August 4 to 14.
