On the 29th, IIZ*ONE concluded a management contract with CJ ENM and Swing Entertainment and ends their team activities. Earlier, Swing Entertainment Off the Record said in an official statement, “The project activities of IZ*ONE will be completed in April as scheduled. Prior to the end of the project, the 12 members have continuously listened to and discussed the opinions of each agency for the best activities. I would like to express my gratitude to all the members and support the growth as an artist in the future.”
IZ*ONE is a 12-member girl group formed through the Mnet idol audition 'Produce 48', which aired in 2018. It consists of 9 Korean members including Kwon Eunbi, Kang Hyewon, Choi Yena, Lee Chaeyeon, Kim Chaewon, Kim Minju, Ahn Yujin, Jang Wonyoung, and 3 Japanese members including Sakura Miyawaki, Nako Yabuki, and Hitomi Honda.
IZ*ONE said at a concert held last month ahead of the disbandment, “Whenever we are tired and difficult, we have members and Wiz1 so we could endure well and get up again. Thank you for always being on our side and making unforgettable memories. Thanks to WIZ*ONE, I was happy every day.” It was a direct greeting to the fans through a concert of tears.
The 12 members of IZ*ONE are expected to return to their respective management companies after dissolution. Japanese member Sakura Miyawaki is known to be discussing an exclusive contract with BTS's agency Big Hit Music, and Choi Ye-na is working on personal activities, such as joining the tvN story entertainment program "Fireworks Handsome" MC.
