[BBANGYA NEWS|Joan Park] Taemin from SHINee and SuperM spilled some beans about the upcoming studio album Never Gonna Dance Again in an interview with W Korea.
Taemin who wrote the lyrics for '2 Kids', a pre-release single of the album had a lot to say about the single as well as the album. "Having released several albums under the concept of a thief or an homme-fatal, I was quite aware of the distance between myself and the audience", Taemin explained. Not wanting to further increase the distance, he seeked to find the midpoint through an uptempo number '2 Kids' which he describes as "by far, the most breezy song of my career."
Taemin said several times during the interview that he wants to 'change everything about himself from inside' and the desire led him to engage more than ever in the album production. While preparing for the album, Taemin took part in most of the album making process, from selecting and contacting the director of the music video to determining concept, hairstyle and outfit for the album. "I even told the director that I wanted to look totally miserable and wretched. I wanted to be seem as if I'm found at the bottom of an abyss or on the side of a street." When asked why he wanted to look so desperate, Taemin answered "I don't know. I think there's a lot inside of me. I think I wanted to express that."
Taemin wishes Never Gonna Dance Again to be a turning point and that it can motivate him to be a completely different person. Will his wish be granted? No one is about to find out sooner than September 7, the day when his album drops.
