[BBANGYA NEWS｜Joan Park] Han Sungsoo, CEO of PLEDIS Entertainment admitted that he falsely registered his wife as songwriter 'So Jay' for IZ*ONE's debut album for copyright royalty.
Doubts about her occurred when So Jay appeared on the credits list of IZ*ONE's albums, one of the hottest girl groups in Korea, when she didn't have any previous career. No one knew her face or who she is; she worked only with IZ*ONE. According to the information found on Korea Music Copyright Association site, So Jay participated as songwriter and composer of IZ*ONE's hits 'Violetta', 'Open Your Eyes', 'Airplane' and 'Pink Blusher'. For some songs, she participated a lot more than renowned, experienced songwriters.
Another evidence can be found in the credit list of IZ*ONE's song 'We Together'. 'We Together' was released twice, first as a song for the final original performance track in Mnet show 'Produce 48'. The same song was featured in the group's debut album later. So Jay's name that couldn’t be found anywhere in the performance track version of 'Produce 48' is there in the album version of the song.
Han Sungsoo explained that he participated in the production process of the song, but admitted that it was careless to gain loyalty under his wife's name. However, he denied any rumor regarding embezzlement and tax issue.
