The dispute between the group LOONA and the agency Blockberry Creative shows no signs of ending even after a year has passed. At the beginning of the year, when the 4 members won a partial victory in a lawsuit for an injunction to suspend the validity of their exclusive contracts, the agency pulled out a “prohibition on entertainment activities” card.
Former member Chu is the one the agency targeted as the first runner of the ban on entertainment activities.
Blockberry Creative (hereafter referred to as Blockberry) told Maeil Business Daily Star Today on the 1st, “I made a request to the Yeonmaehyup (Korea Entertainment Management Association) and Yeonjehyeop (Korea Entertainment Producers Association) due to the tempering problem (act of making prior contact before the expiration of the contract period). We have submitted a petition containing the contents of the prohibition of entertainment activities.”
Blockberry judged that Chew had already tried to contact BypoM to sign a new contract in 2021, when the trust with Blockberry was broken, and filed a complaint with the Compensation and Punishment Committee of the Federation of Trade Associations claiming violation of the management contract according to the prohibition of tampering.
Blockberry also said, "We plan to also submit a petition to the Yeonmaehyup Reward and Punishment Committee to ban the entertainment activities of Heejin, Kim Lip, Jinsol, and Choiri."
Loona, Heejin, Kim Lip, Jinsol, and Choiri received a partial ruling in favor of the application for injunctive injunction to suspend the validity of their exclusive contract, which was held on the 13th of last month at the Civil Division 1 of the Seoul Northern District Court (Chief Judge Jeong Mun-seong). Haseul, Yeojin, Yves, Gowon, and Olivia Hye, who applied for a provisional injunction together, lost their case due to some changes in the terms of their previous contracts.
Block Berry said last year that Chew had abused power and used abusive language towards staff, and that she would be removed from LOONA. However, while she insisted on Chuu's abuse and abusive language, controversy arose because she did not provide clear evidence.
Later, the mobile messenger conversation between Chuu and Loona's manager was revealed, and it was revealed that the reason for the conflict between the two sides was the settlement issue.
Following Chuu, Loona members Heejin, Kim Lip, Jinsoul, and Choiri also filed an application for injunction to suspend the exclusive contract against Blockberry Creative and won. Haseul, Yeojin, Eve, Go Won, and Olivia Hye are said to have lost.
