On the 27th, YG Entertainment announced to the JTBC Enternews team that “Daesung has terminated his contract and is seeking a new start.”
He added, "The fact that Daesung is a member of Big Bang remains unchanged, and we will support Daesung's new start and choice and cooperate with him at any time."
Along with this, the agency explained, "G-Dragon is negotiating a solo contract."
Previously, the previous day, another member of Big Bang, Taeyang (Dong Young-bae), announced that he would leave YG and build a new nest at The Black Label, a company affiliated with YG. Already another member, TOP, became independent earlier this year.
Although some are concerned about the future BIGBANG team activities, YG is making it clear that they will always cooperate and strive for BIGBANG group activities, saying, “There is no change in the fact that Taeyang and Daesung are members of YG and members of BIGBANG.”
Debuting in 2006, BIGBANG started out as a 5-member group of G-Dragon, Top, Taeyang, Daesung, and Seungri, and performed ‘Lie’, ‘Last Farewell’, ‘Day by Day’, ‘I don’t know’, ‘FANTASTIC BABY’ and ‘Let’s Not Fall in Love’. They received a lot of love with various hit songs such as 'BAE BAE', 'MONSTER', and 'BANG BANG BANG'.
BIGBANG, who made a comeback as a 4-member group without victory in April this year, released their first new song in 4 years, ‘Spring Summer Fall Winter’, and topped various music charts.
